We here at GME are building ourselves a bigger reputation working with property management companies in the area. Recently, we were contracted by Leeds based Adair Paxton to carry out works on a block of their residential apartments. The job certainly didn’t come without its challenges, but one the GME team accepted, and managed to complete the job to the high standard that we’re becoming known for.
Riverside Apartments, Leeds, aptly named as they back on to the river were in need of some general painting maintenance. The building has 120 flats, with the external windows, paintwork in the internal courtyard, and garages all needing renovation. The awkward positioning of some of the external woodwork meant that the GME team had to plan the manoeuvring perfectly.
The first task was to paint the windows, however, as the building was numerous stories high, we had to get a cherry picker on the job to give us a help in hand. After the completion of the front windows, it was time to face the bigger challenge… the ones which backed on to the river.
The team here at GME looked to source a local scaffolder who would provide scaffolding from the water to the top of the building. Once the scaffolding was constructed, the team wasted no time staining the windows and ensuring that the job was completed on time and to a high standard to ensure that the residents were happy with the works complete.
When we’re dealing with jobs like this which can cause disruption to residents, we ensure that we build relationships with those affected keeping communication constant. This way, the inconvenience is minimised as much as possible, and we certainly know how important this is!
