3 Ways to Prolong the Life of Interior Paintwork

29th June 2018

Large-scale commercial properties can be time consuming when it comes to painting and decorating. Prolonging the life of your paintwork for as long as possible is the key to saving money and time for your business.

To help, we’ve put together a small guide on 3 ways you can help extend your paintwork’s lifespan.

  1. Colour choice – when selecting a colour choice, you’ll want to pick a shade that will continue to look good for a prolonged period of time. For example, choosing a white paint when you work in a busy environment, may be a bad choice as the colour is known for picking up dirt and stains easily. You’ll also want to consider your branding when choosing these colours, any colour you think won’t suit your branding in a years-time is a big no, no.
  2. Cleaning – paintwork can very easily become dirty looking, especially if the environment you work in is prone to spillages and splashes (a café/restaurant for instance.) Regularly checking and cleaning your paintwork will prevent the dirt building up into a larger, uglier problem.
  3. Corners – the area of your building, most prone to paint erosion are the corners of your walls. These areas can really take a beating, especially if your commercial property experiences a lot of traffic from customers and employees. Luckily, you can protect your interior corners by adding inexpensive corner guards that will keep the chips to a minimum. When installed properly, corner guards can be incredibly complementary to your interior.
